Last day of Amazon India Couture Week started with showcase of Manav Gangwani's collection. The use of grey, orange and purple was prominent in his collection. 

 The collection this time is a french collection collection called Le'amoureuse (the beloved). A lot of bead work, embroidery and glitter is seen in his collection. Manav Gangwani is known for his opulent couture and exquisite craftsmanship was seen in his designs.

Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Manav Gangwani wearing a purple 30 kg gown with immense detailing, hand work and embroidery. Bold eyes and nude lips was the make up scheme for the show.
His designs were feminine and had an amazing flow.

Hello my lovely readers.
Day 4 at AICW 2015 ended with Rohit Bal's Show. His collection has use of a lot of rich fabrics like velvet and silk in royal colors like black, red , maroons and royal blues. The collection had an aristocratic vibe. The heavily embroidered pieces were inspired from the kashmiri embroidery style. A lot of flowers, parrots and colorful birds are seen in the ensembles for women, Similarly flowers, birds and horse motifs are seen in men,s collection.

The were glimpses of Victorian Era on the models with ruffled sleeves. White was also one of the prominent colors seen in his collection. The collection looks like its just out of a painting. Impeccable workmanship and embroidery gives a royal aristocratic feel to the whole collection.

Varun Bahl at Day 3

THE SONG OF FLOWER

Day 3 at India Couture Week ended with Varun Bahl's Show. His ensembles were an amalgamation of traditional styles with a modern twist. He did use the traditional colors like maroons, oranges and reds with a contemporary twist of vintage inspired floral embroidery. The collection is aptly names as the song of flower.

White is the new black. Literally. White is not going anywhere and the white on white trend is here to stay. White is the color that has been trending since the Day 1 of India Couture Week.

The movement and flow of the outfits mimic the movement of flower in the wind just like the new bride fragile and delicate. His show created a flower epiphany.

I asked, “Where is your home, beautiful moon?”

She said, “In the wreck of your heart so stone.

I am the sun shining into your ruin.

Long may you call this wild wasteland your home”.

Kashish, an Urdu word, reflects an attraction, a deep desire and yearning for something; something which maybe never was.

Drawing inspiration from one of the richest ancient civilizations, Persia, Kashish resonates this longing for a lost place that used to be the home to magical folklores endorsing beautiful princesses, fierce as well as passionate and verses by Rumi validating their very existence. Anju Modi wanders off in an attempt to recreate and enumerate this excruciating yet embalming feeling through her collection, to a world which we all long to experience, again and again and again!

Pastel shades of blue, yellow and whites dominated the color palatte along with royal blues and reds. The amalgamation of intricate embroidery with pastel pinks and blues together bring together the outfit for the modern bride away from the traditional reds.

"TREE OF LIFE" by Rahul Mishra

Day 2 at FDCI AICW started with Rahul Mishra's Tree Of Life Collection. The Collection takes inspiration from the multitasking modern women in terms of strength and fragility. Inspired from centuries old Chintz textiles, the collection carries simplicity, which is represented through age-old craftsmanship in a modern progressive graphic style.

Revisiting the glorious era, the collection transverses from hand embroidered floral patterns to sheer handloom textiles to create a harmony between sharp tailoring and utlra lux sportswear. The collection comprises of contemporary elements put together for new age bride.

Bomber jackets and jumpers with lehangas and capes and jackets with sarees?

 Who thought this could work out perfectly?

The intricate hand embroideries are an outcome of concerted efforts of reverse migration craftsmen back into their villages from urban dwellings, to take a new step in producing Slow Fashion.

Rahul Mishra tells us that whites and minimal make-up look is here to stay the next season too.

  

 This ones my favourite. The color,the flow, the intricate flower embroidery and modern design.

"SILT AND CIPHER" by Gaurav Gupta

Sand so brilliant, reflective, mysterious and yet always at the verge of disappearing with one swish of wave. Silt and Cipher are sews itself along those lines. The clinched waist, the recurring peplum, many tiered skirts and costumesque volumes make their appearances. 

I am in love with Kalki's dress. This dress is every modern girl's dream. The waves and ripples of this dress reminds us of the beach, doesn't it?

Structure and Drape juxtaposed throughout in Oil Blue, Glare Silver, Withered Peach, Just Nude and Tipsy Gold. There is extensive play of tone on tone and the almost botanical renderings of roots and oceans to make the gowns, sari gowns and lehanga gowns seem emerging out of elements.

The whites and Nudes are here to stay and so is the nude makeup. Both Ruhal Mishra's and Gaurav Gupta's models had nude lips and minimal makeup.
