One year ago, on this same day I started blogging. Since me and my sister are fashion enthusiasts and we love to play dress up and click each other, she suggested me to start a blog. Since then there is no looking back.

MODA YALDA TURNS ONE

Moda Yalda turns one today (yayyyyyyy!!). I am so excited. I have always loved dressing up thanks to my mom and Sonia Bua who used to dress me up when I was a toddler and click me all the time. I still can't seem to get over that obsession.
Blogging makes me happy. I try to be different than all the other main stream bloggers. I design and hand-paint most of my clothes. I have a vision and work hard to make that come alive. I design, I paint and make my own clothes. I always believe one should dress in such a way that it makes you unique and if you love something you should not be shy to try it. Style keeps evolving and you tend to get better with time and so have I.

This pictures were clicked by my amazing friend Meghanjali in the narrow lanes and gullies of Majnu ka Tila. Majnu ka Tila is an amazing place for shopping. It isn't as cheap as Sarojini or Janpath but you will find all the latest trends there. The mannequins were straight out of pinterest, trust me.

I wore a black tee and hand-painted henna tattoo midi skirt in nude ( which you can buy here ). I kept the whole look minimalistic. I paired a black leather sling and avaitors with some black flats and I was good to go.

DIY Little White Dress

"Create"

Today I have this amazing DIY post for you guys. It's a dupe of white dress from Zara. This DIY is super amazing, fun and easy. I have always loved creating stuff. Art does not judge you. You should keep creating stuff you want to, it doesn't matter if you have an audience or not, it doesn't matter if you get appreciation or not. It should make you happy and that is what art is for me.

For this DIY I have used following materials:

1. Faber Castell 3-D Acrylic outliners in glitter shades
2. Fevicryl Hobby Ideas 3-D Acrylic outliners
3. Fevicryl Acrylic Paints
4. brushes
5. Pen / Pencil for sketching
6. Over-sized white t-shirt (so that you can wear it as a dress)

Steps :
1. I started by sketching rough template on a piece of paper. I sketched the design on the tee using a pen. You can use a pencil if you are a little apprehensive using a pen.

2. I wrote "lady" in free hand-cursive handwriting using a pen. I used orange acrylic color to paint it. A thick outlining of black color was added.

3. I sketched the palm tree to left side of the tee using a ball point pen. Color the leaves green using Faber Castell 3-D outliner. Fill yellow color in the trunk and outline the tree with black 3-D outliner to give it a final finish.

4. Sketch the ice-cream cone and start outlining the cone with golden glitter and make the design as shown. 

Use pink color to fill the ice cream (yummm ) and add red dots using Fevircyl 3-D outliner.

5. Sketch the lips according to the template. Use magenta shade from Faber Castell outliners to fill the lips. Finish by doing the final detailing using black acrylic color. ( the pictures are pretty self explanatory though :P )

6. For the lipstick start by outlining it with black fevicryl 3-D outliner. Fill in magenta and transparent sparkles accordingly.

6. Watermelon!!!! Fill the green part using green glitter outliner. Use fevicryl 3-D outliner in red to fill the internal part. Color the seeds black using 3-D outiner.

7. Daisies!!! Color the circle using golden outliner and petals using Faber Castell Virgin Snow outliner. Voila.!!
You are done.

8. I added a diamond at the back of the dress ( not present in original Zara dress). Bling.

After much efforts, this is the final result. This dress has everything that a girl likes, food, makeup and daisies. I added diamonds too.

So do you like the dress? It looks similar, doesn't it? I love it. Since this post is already a big one, I will be styling this dress in the next one.

Beautiful Chaos

All the madness and chaos before the shoot, raiding my closet, finding the perfect accessories, gets justified when the post turns out to be beautiful. This madness for having my own blog keeps me going. 

Moda Yalda is like a beautiful chaos. Moda Yalda is my dream.

I am a sucker for twin sets. I have a dozen twin sets already and I am still buying more ( yes I am obsessed). In this post I am wearing a black high neck crop top with a high waist stripe pencil skirt from Blush_wherefashionmeets. Blush is a cute instagram page that has all the latest clothes available at very affordable prices ( you would want to buy everything, trust me).

This attire gives a very sophisticated yet sexy feel. I totally loved it.
I accessorized it with my candy pink clutch and cherry leather heels. Sunglasses are a must have during summers.

Shopping with Limeroad

I have never been much of a fan of online shopping. I am the kind of girl who has to try on the clothes and visualize how I can style them, I need to see the fabric, the prints, the cut of the clothes and how they fit me.

But all this changed when I found online shopping  with Limeroad.com. On Limeroad.com you can actually style your clothes virtually by creating scrapbooks. I just love how one can create different looks and style a dress. What's the need for going from shop to shop and trying on clothes when you can do the same thing sitting on your bed.
I totally loved scrap-booking.

I fell in love with this amazing print.

The other thing I liked about Limeroad.com was the variety that it has to offer. One can buy anything from clothing to home decor. Also they have amazing dresses available at a steal of 400 bucks which is a great thing for college students like me who don't want to spend a fortune and still look chic.
I like how limeroad has so many different options to choose from. While browsing through the dresses, I liked doodle waist cut dress, striped monochrome waist cut dress and purple bloom open back dress.

Art of Minimalism

Hello all you lovely people

I am pretty excited about this post as this is the first black and white post for Moda Yalda. I love black and white pictures so I wanted this post to be prefect.

Well this post combines two trends : Boyfriend Fashion and Minimalism.

Minimalist trend is all about doing away with the things that are not essential, being more with less.

Boyfriend fashion originated with borrowing and wearing boyfriend's clothes. The two main important wear the look is making it over sized and rolling the sleeves. Boyfriend trend is about wearing a size bigger than what you normally wear and rolling up the sleeves gives a feminine look and balances the sleeves that would look too big otherwise.

In this post I am doing the minimalist boyfriend trend. I am wearing a over sized black tee shirt dress from adagio. If you don't get the tee shirt dress, you can get a tee two sizes bigger than your actual size from the men's section and you are sorted.
I did away with all the accessories except for a tribal choker and charm necklace. Reflector sunglasses and DIY holographic statement clutch completed the look with my favorite Litas.

DIY tassel earrings

Hello lovelies

I hope you guys are having an amazing weekend. As for me, I am in love with this prefect spring weather, sunny in the day and breezy during the nights. Its my favorite weather.
I have been very busy lately with birthday celebrations and college work. I did not have the time to shoot an outfit post so I decided to upload an super duper easy DIY earring post ( though I plan to shoot my birthday outfit post soon but I am having second thoughts so do let me know if you guys want me to that in the comments below )

I have a thing for long earrings and I am obsessed with tassels so I combined both the things and decided to make these for myself.

Follow these steps to make yours.

Materials that you will need :

Tassels
Earring hooks
Needle

thread

Use thread and needle to secure the tassels tightly to the hook and voila you are done.

It is actually as easy as that :D
P.s. : please ignore the chipped nailpaint.

So this is how they look. I can't wait to style them already.
